E-Learning Technologies

The subject is designed to develop student skills to assess the offer of e-learning technologies critically in the context of curriculum designing, learning and teaching organization, to evaluate the strategies for integration of e-learning and ICT in all sectors of education, providing recommendations for e-learning development and qualitative application of technologies. Students are trained to plan integration of technologies in education and study process, and to prepare teacher and trainer continuous professional development plan.

  • how to assess and ensure the quality of technology application in an educational institution;
  • application of ICT in different sectors;
  • virtual learning environments and how to select a proper one;
  • curriculum design for reflective practitioners;
  • innovating pedagogy with technologies: digital assessment;
  • learning analytics as a tool to enhance reflective teaching and learning;
  • OER and challenges of opening up;
  • Digital competence in the knowledge society.

Learning outcomes:

  • describe e-learning models and technologies enhancing learning, their offer in the market, concepts, and to highlight their differences and characteristics;
  • assess the strategies of integration of technologies in different sectors of education;
  • apply metacognitive principles to re-design and improve classroom level curriculum applying technologies in education;
  • plan and design technology-enhanced learning curriculum using virtual learning environments;
  • plan the development of digital skills for teachers and trainers.

Assoc. prof. dr. Airina Volungevičienė is president of EDEN – European Distance and e-Learning Network, Chair of the Board of LieDM association (Lithuanian Association of Distance and e-Learning).  Assoc. prof. dr. Airina Volungevičienė has been working among leading researchers, methodology specialists and education policy makers in the area of technology enhanced learning (TEL) development in Europe and Lithuania since 1997.


Estela Daukšienė

Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences, President of LieDM association

Estela Daukšienė is responsible for teacher consultations on online studies and management of online study programme “Education and Information Technologies”. She has worked as a specialist, administrator, project manager and researcher at various educational institutions. She is also a lecturer at Institute of Education (Vytautas Magnus University). Currently she is also the president of Lithuanian Association of Distance and e-Learning (LieDM association).
