Lithuanian Language A1 (For Ukrainians, EN)

The intensive subject is intended for Ukrainians.

Having completed the course students will be able to:

  • Read simple Lithuanian texts.
  • Recognize and understand familiar words and key phrases in the most common everyday situations.
  • Understand the spoken Lithuanian language when the context is related to the topics discussed during the course.
  • Ask and provide information as well as maintain a conversation on the topics studied during the course

Main topics:

  • “Let’s get acquainted. Who you are? Who is your friend?” Vocabulary: introducing onesself, home country, nationality, languages, address, telephone number. Grammar: alphabet, nominative and genitive, present tense A type verbs.
  • “Place and time. What is your city like? Where and when do we meet?” Vocabulary: city objects, directions, seasons of the year, parts of the day, hours. Grammar: locative case, prepositions of place, accusative case, present tense I type verbs.
  • “Food and drink. Is it delicious?” Vocabulary: foods, drinks, adjectives to describe foods. Grammar: matching of adjectives and nouns, present tense O type verbs, conditional mood to express courtesy, prepositions su and be, instrumental case.
