The course is intended to develop communicative competence that include the development of the vocabulary and the use of the language during listening, reading comprehension, speaking, writing and translation activities at the elementary level.

We will discuss the following topics:

  • Introducing yourself and other people.
  • Accommodation and home environment.
  • Describing objects.
  • Transport. Road guidance. Places to visit.
  • Months. Seasons. Weather.
  • Clothes, appearance and shopping.
  • Body parts and health.
  • Holidays.

Grammar topics covered in the course:

  • noun declension,
  • declension of personal pronouns,
  • imperative,
  • compound sentence, conjunctions denn, deshalb,
  • ordinal numerals, date,
  • adverbs of place, prepositions of place and direction,
  • past tense of auxiliary verbs,
  • present perfect,
  • prepositions of time,
  • demonstrative pronouns,
  • conversations in groups or Moodle.

After completing the course, you will be able to:

  • use grammatical and lexical structures,
  • introduce and consistently describe yourself and your environment,
  • read and comprehend simple texts, such as dialogues, advertisements, e-mails, postcards, questionnaires,
  • understand short adapted audio and video recordings, instructions, phrases and words used in everyday situations,
  • use simple phrases to discuss everyday topics, express feelings or impressions,
  • ask and answer simple questions on important topics, respond to the other person,
  • use simple phrases to describe yourself, complete a simple questionnaire, write a short message.

Prerequisites for entering the course

  • German A1.1 level

Acknowledgement of acquired competencies

  • Language certificate (with positive evaluation after final exam)
